Five other suburban communities have published Monday observances of their own. Baldwinsville, alone among the major village parades, will hold its ceremony five days later on Saturday, May 30.
Camillus: 9 a.m. wreath, 9:30 a.m. parade, Main Street
The Camillus Memorial Day Parade has become the early-morning anchor of the West Side observance. The 2026 committee, run from camillusparade.org, posted the schedule in April. A Town Hall ceremony begins the day at 7:30 a.m., running roughly ten minutes before participants drive to the village. Police close Main Street at 8:45 a.m. The wreath ceremony at the Kayak Shop corner steps off the morning at 9 a.m. The 5K starts at 9:28, and the parade follows at 9:30.
The route runs Main Street in the Village of Camillus, with units staging along the side streets. Two pre-weekend ceremonies on Saturday, May 23, will mark Veterans Memorial Park at Gillie Lake (10 a.m., about 20 minutes) and Maplewood Cemetery (11:15 a.m.). The committee also asks volunteers to help with flag placement at Belle Isle and Maplewood on Saturday, May 16.
Baldwinsville: a Saturday observance, ceremony at the post office at 8:45 a.m.
Baldwinsville is the outlier on the calendar. The Village of Baldwinsville scheduled its Memorial Day Parade for Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., with a memorial ceremony at 8:45 a.m. in front of the US Post Office and a full memorial service at Riverview Cemetery after the parade. American Legion Post 113, located at 8529 Smokey Hollow Road in Baldwinsville, organizes the post-side observance. The grand marshal and ceremony speakers were not announced on the village page as of May 17.
The village invites participants to register through a QR code on the parade announcement or via email to [email protected]. Residents on the Oswego Street corridor and through the downtown should expect parking restrictions starting before 8 a.m. Saturday.
North Syracuse: 9 a.m. step-off from Lonergan Park
The Village of North Syracuse will start its parade at 9 a.m. at the entrance to Lonergan Park on Monday, May 25. The route proceeds north down Main Street and ends at Veterans Memorial Park across from Rite Aid. A memorial ceremony follows. The village indicated that musical entertainment has been added to this year’s program and that local businesses and groups are encouraged to enter. North Syracuse paired the parade with its Family Festival in past years; the 2026 festival schedule should be confirmed through the village recreation office.
Cicero: cemetery service at 10:45, parade at 11
The Town of Cicero arranges the morning around its town cemetery. The Cicero Memorial Day service is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. at Cicero Cemetery at 8554 Brewerton Road. The parade begins at 11 a.m. on Brewerton Road, proceeds to Route 31, and ends at the American Legion on Legionnaire Drive. Drivers should plan for short-duration closures on Brewerton Road around 11 and again on Route 31 as the procession moves through.
Manlius: 11 a.m. expected, village center
The Village of Manlius runs a long-standing Memorial Day parade that historically steps off at 11 a.m. through the village center. The Manlius village clerk had not posted a 2026 page at press time, and the parade announcement is expected through manliusvillage.org and the recreation department’s social pages. Families planning to attend should expect the same late-morning timing and the same downtown route used in prior years, with parking restrictions on Pleasant Street and Stickley Drive starting around 10 a.m.

Skaneateles: a 118-year tradition expected to continue
Skaneateles American Legion Post 239 has organized the village observance since 1908 in different forms, according to celebration chairman Jack Haggerty. The post’s published 2025 pattern began with a ceremony at the legion building on Jordan Road at 9 a.m., a parade assembly at 10:30 a.m., a march to St. Mary’s Cemetery, a procession through the village to Lakeview Cemetery, and a closing service at Shotwell Park at the north end of Skaneateles Lake. A 2026 announcement, including this year’s keynote speaker and any military flyover, is expected through the legion post and the Skaneateles village page closer to the holiday.
The 2025 keynote was Naval LCDR (Ret.) Laurie N. Coffey, a Naval Academy graduate and F/A-18 Hornet pilot from Corning, New York, with more than 2,300 flight hours and 300 carrier landings. The 2026 grand marshal and speaker were not yet announced as of May 17.
Fayetteville: Route 5 to Beard Park, late morning
The Fayetteville parade has historically begun at the intersection of Route 5 and Highbridge Street, heading east on Genesee Street (Route 5) and turning onto South Manlius Street (Route 257) to end with a ceremony at Beard Park. The village events page lists Memorial Day among its 2026 calendar items, with the parade typically held the morning of the observed holiday. Drivers should expect closures on Genesee Street and South Manlius Street for roughly 90 minutes around the procession. Cazenovia: Memorial Park, Albany Street
Cazenovia American Legion Post 88, based at 26 Chenango Street, has run the village’s Memorial Day program for decades. The published pattern begins with a color-guard step-off from the high school grounds at the corner of Emory Avenue and Forman Street at 10:30 a.m. and ends with a ceremony at Memorial Park on Albany Street starting at 11 a.m. A second observance at the post’s Garden of Honor follows at 12:30 p.m. Specific 2026 speakers were not announced as of May 17. Eastwood: the city’s lone Memorial Day parade, 9 a.m.
Although this is a suburban beat, one Syracuse city neighborhood deserves a mention because of its scarcity. The 2026 Eastwood Memorial Day Parade starts at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, beginning at 102 Nichols and heading west to Greenway Veterans’ Memorial Park at James and Grant. The Eastwood Neighborhood Association notes that the parade has been the city’s only Memorial Day parade for more than 50 years. The Pride of Syracuse City School District’s Marching Band performs, and the ceremony at Greenway closes the morning. Volunteers for parade participation and traffic control are still being recruited through the association’s website.

Onondaga County honors
The Onondaga County Veterans Service Agency coordinates the county-level observance. Volunteers place more than 6,000 flags on veteran gravesites at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Howlett Hill Road during the Friday “Flags In” service ahead of the holiday. The Service Agency line for residents who need referrals or claim help is 315-435-3202. The cemetery sits at 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, NY 13208. The county’s annual public ceremony has traditionally fallen on the Sunday before Memorial Day at 10 a.m.
The Onondaga County War Memorial downtown holds extended hours through the season. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the memorial is open Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and during events. Three forms of participation are open to residents who want to mark the day beyond watching from the curb.
Flag placement. The Camillus parade committee opens Saturday, May 16 flag placement at Belle Isle starting at 10 a.m. and Maplewood in the afternoon. The Onondaga County Veterans Service Agency runs its Friday “Flags In” service at the county veterans cemetery on Howlett Hill Road.
Wreath laying. The Camillus wreath-laying at Veterans Memorial Park at Gillie Lake on Saturday, May 23 at 10 a.m. is open to the public. The Cazenovia program at Memorial Park on Monday includes a public reading of “In Flanders Fields.”
Parade volunteering. The Eastwood Neighborhood Association is recruiting traffic-control volunteers for the May 25 morning. The Baldwinsville parade is open to community group entries through the village’s QR code form or the parade email address. The Camillus committee accepts donations and volunteer time through camillusparade.org.
Closures and detours
Drivers in the western suburbs should plan around an 8:45 a.m. traffic stoppage by Camillus Police on Main Street through the village. North Syracuse’s Main Street will close from Lonergan Park north to Veterans Memorial Park beginning shortly before 9 a.m. Cicero will close Brewerton Road and the corresponding portion of Route 31 from roughly 10:45 a.m. through the conclusion of the parade at the American Legion on Legionnaire Drive. Manlius parade closures historically begin at 10 a.m. through the village center. Skaneateles closures along Jordan Street, the village stretch of West Genesee Street, and the West Lake Road approach to Shotwell Park typically run from 10:30 a.m. until the closing service ends.
In Baldwinsville on Saturday, May 30, expect Oswego Street parking restrictions before 8 a.m. and a rolling closure through the village center to Riverview Cemetery between 9 and 10:30 a.m.
If you go: a quick checklist
Bring water. Most ceremonies are outdoor on grass or roadside; chairs are useful at the cemetery services. The Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery is uphill from the Howlett Hill Road parking turnoff. Drone use is not permitted at the county cemetery during ceremonies. Quiet behavior during the 21-gun salute and Taps is expected.
Service members and veterans who wish to march can contact the relevant village clerk or American Legion post in their community. Most CNY suburban parades welcome veterans in uniform up to the lineup time without preregistration, but the lineup point and time vary by village.
For families with children, the parades in Camillus, North Syracuse, and Cicero are the most kid-friendly in length, running roughly 45 minutes to one hour. Skaneateles and Manlius run longer because of their cemetery stops.
