Cazenovia’s Memorial Park already smells like maple syrup and fresh bread. The village’s summer farmers market opened on Albany Street on Saturday, May 2, with 26 confirmed 2026 vendors ranging from Brownson Family Farm to Mad Pickle Company. Six days later, on May 8, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County’s directory of 12 county-listed outdoor markets was already filling with opening dates for late May and early June.

For shoppers across the four-county region we cover, the 2026 outdoor season is no longer a forecast. It is happening. Markets in Skaneateles, Cazenovia, Baldwinsville, Camillus, Manlius and the Westcott neighborhood are either open, opening this week, or opening within two weeks. The CNY Regional Market at 2100 Park Street in Syracuse has been running year round.

Market by market: how six different suburbs are opening 2026

Cazenovia (Madison County): summer market open since May 2

The Cazenovia Farmers Market jumped first. The summer market runs Saturdays from May 2 through October 24, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park on Albany Street. That is a 25-week run, one of the longest outdoor windows of any market we cover.

The chamber’s confirmed 2026 list includes Brownson Family Farm, Hartwood Farm, Plumb Rocky Farm, Whitney Tavern Farm, Frosty Morning Farm, Dizzy Lizzie’s Farm, Bender Hill Maple, Navarino Orchard, Kimmi K Apiary and Farm, Chiara’s Bakery, Dangerously Delicious Breads, Awa’s Petit Flour, Mad Pickle Company, and the Cazenovia Garden Club, 26 vendors total signed for summer. The mix is heavy on family farms with a sizable bakery cohort.

Cazenovia also runs a winter version. The 2026 Winter Farmers Market closed April 25 at The Methodist Church on Lincklean Street, the new winter home this past March. That gives Cazenovia near-year-round coverage.

Skaneateles (Onondaga County): twin openings May 21 and May 23

The Town of Skaneateles runs one of the only farmers markets in the region with two weekly sessions on different days. The Thursday market opens May 21 and runs through October 8, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at 1 East Austin Street in the Austin Park Pavilion parking lot. The Saturday market opens May 23 and runs through October 10, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the same location.

The 2026 roster on the parks department page lists eight active farms and food producers, including Folls Farms, Good Karma Garlic, Mountain Morning Farms, Saint Fiacres Farms, Lionheart Farms FLX LLC, CiCi Bakery, CNY Compost, and Bednarski Family Farm. The town’s parks department runs the market, unusual for the region. Market Manager Susan G. Murphy fields vendor questions at (315) 727-9320.

Liverpool area, Town of Clay (Onondaga County): Bayberry Plaza on Wednesdays

The Liverpool zip codes do not have a standalone village farmers market this season, but the closest weekly market is just up Oswego Road. The Bayberry Market operates Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Route 57 and Blackberry Road in Clay through October, per Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County’s published directory.

Shoppers in Liverpool, Bayberry, and Salt Springs neighborhoods reach it inside 15 minutes. The Bayberry market focuses on produce, baked goods, jams, plants and flowers, eggs, honey, and maple syrup, and draws weekday daytime shoppers rather than weekend crowds.

Manlius (Onondaga County): two days a week starting in June

The Manlius Farmers Market is one of the few in the region that runs two days a week without a Saturday session. It operates Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through October, in the parking lot off Route 92 near Village Centre. Cornell Cooperative Extension lists the season as June through October.

The split-day pattern gives commuters who cannot make a Saturday morning slot a real alternative. The location, behind the Sno-Top ice cream stand on Fayette Street, is walkable from much of Manlius village.

Baldwinsville (Onondaga County): village square, Tuesday afternoons

The Greater Baldwinsville Farmers Market returns to the village square behind the B’Ville Diner. It operates 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 50 Salina Street, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. Historic offerings include fruits, vegetables, bedding plants, hanging baskets, wine, granola, maple syrup, honey, handmade soaps, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, plus craft vendors.

Baldwinsville’s market pairs with a separate Camillus market run by the same organization. CNY Signal could not independently verify the precise 2026 opening date at press time and will update when the village or organization confirms.

Camillus (Onondaga County): West Genesee Street, Fridays

The Camillus Farmers Market continues at 4600 West Genesee Street on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. through October, per Cornell Cooperative Extension’s directory. The location sits across from the Fairmount Fire Department in the municipal building lot. Camillus weekday timings have shifted across recent years, so check signage on arrival.

Westcott neighborhood (City of Syracuse): Wednesdays at the community center

The Syracuse Eastside Farmers Market runs out of the Westcott Community Center. It operates every Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. June through October in the lot along Euclid Avenue at 826 Euclid Avenue. Market Manager Elise Conklin handles vendor recruitment at (315) 400-0982.

The Westcott market is intentionally small. The center limits duplication of produce and pre-packaged items because of the parking lot footprint. It is a neighborhood market, not a regional one.

The Central New York Regional Market: the year-round anchor

The CNY Regional Market at 2100 Park Street in Syracuse sits in a category of its own. It opened in 1938 and runs three days a week: Thursdays 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. May through October, plus Saturdays and Sundays 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. year round. Reachable at (315) 422-8647, it draws hundreds of vendors during peak summer Saturdays and serves both retail shoppers and small grocers buying wholesale.

When and where: master schedule across the week

One pattern stands out across the schedules: at least one CNY market is open every weekday from late May onward, with Saturdays and Wednesdays the busiest. The grid below maps each market by day and time.

Manlius also runs Sundays 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CNY Regional Market also runs Sundays 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. year round.

Three markets share Saturday mornings, the most competitive slot of the week. A driver in Manlius can choose Cazenovia Memorial Park (20 minutes east), Skaneateles Austin Park (30 minutes southwest), or the Regional Market (20 minutes northwest). All three open within 30 minutes of each other.

      What is new in 2026

Two changes shape the 2026 outdoor season more than any single new vendor.

First, Cazenovia’s winter market moved homes. As of March 2026, the market settled at The Methodist Church on Lincklean Street as its new winter home, ending a multi-year search for indoor space.

Second, the SNAP fruit-and-vegetable match doubled. New York’s Double Up Food Bucks NY raised its daily cap for 2026 from $20 per day to $40 per day on matched produce purchases. A SNAP shopper who buys $40 of fresh produce now leaves with $40 in Double Up dollars for the next trip.

The expansion is not theoretical for Onondaga County. Field & Fork Network, which administers the program, reported in March 2026 that Double Up Food Bucks NY crossed one million customer transactions. Market 32 and Price Chopper began accepting Double Up Food Bucks at select Onondaga and Schenectady County stores in February 2025. The grocery match means SNAP shoppers can use the same incentive at a market on Saturday and a Price Chopper on Tuesday.

SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks: which markets accept what

SNAP acceptance at CNY markets is uneven. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County says in its directory that many local markets accept Food Stamps/SNAP benefits and Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program coupons including WIC and Senior coupons, but stops short of confirming all. The CNY Regional Market sells EBT tokens onsite.

For Skaneateles, Cazenovia, and Westcott, SNAP and Double Up acceptance was not posted on the official market pages reviewed for this story. Shoppers using benefits should call ahead. We will update as markets confirm 2026 participation.

A SNAP household using the full $40 daily Double Up match every Saturday from May 23 to October 10, the 21-week span of the Skaneateles Saturday market, walks away with up to $840 in matched produce dollars across the season.

Behind the season: weather, supply, and the family farm question

Opening day is the easy part. The hard part is what happens between the rows of tables.

CNY’s growing season is short. The last spring frost across Onondaga, Madison, Oswego, and Cayuga counties typically lands between May 10 and May 25. That is why most outdoor markets do not start until late May or early June. Cazenovia’s May 2 open date is unusual because much of what is on offer the first weekend is pre-existing inventory: maple syrup, baked goods, prepared foods, and overwintered greens rather than fresh field produce.

Returning Cazenovia 2026 vendors like Brownson Family Farm, Whitney Tavern Farm, Hartwood Farm, and Plumb Rocky Farm are multi-year staples. The chamber’s announcement names the Cazenovia Garden Club as a participating organization, signaling that the chamber is also leaning on civic volunteer groups for specialty slots.

Supply is also worth watching. A wet May or a late frost can push fresh produce availability back a week or two even when the market itself opens on schedule.

How to vendor: what it takes to set up a table

If you grow, bake, or make things, the path to a market table is short but requires paperwork.

For Cazenovia, the chamber posts a vendor application each winter and announces accepted vendors before May. The Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce refers vendor inquiries to [email protected].

For Skaneateles, the parks department issues a “2026 Farmer Market Application & Guidelines” PDF and Susan G. Murphy at (315) 727-9320 handles vendor screening directly.

For Westcott Community Center, Elise Conklin at (315) 400-0982 manages applications. The center limits categories to keep produce and pre-packaged food from over-duplicating in the parking lot footprint.

For the Greater Baldwinsville and Camillus market, the parent organization posts applications on its Marketspread page each spring.

Vendors also need a current New York State sales tax certificate of authority, food handler permits where applicable, and product liability insurance if the market requires it. Each market sets its own rules for prepared foods, alcohol sampling, and craft vendors versus producer vendors.

      The shopper’s bottom line

For a CNY household, the 2026 outdoor season offers roughly five months of weekly access to local produce starting in May, with most markets running through October 10 to October 24. A Saturday shopper has three strong choices, and a weekday shopper can find a market on every weekday except Monday.

The biggest practical change for SNAP shoppers is the new $40 daily Double Up Food Bucks cap, double the prior ceiling. That alone, more than any new vendor or location, will determine how much fresh produce a CNY family on food assistance brings home.

Cazenovia is already open. Skaneateles opens Thursday, May 21. The Regional Market never closed. The rest of the suburban markets open across late May and June. Pick a day, pick a market, bring a tote bag.
