Cazenovia College campus rezoned
On July 1, the Village of Cazenovia Board of Trustees voted 4-0 to rezone the former Cazenovia College core campus as a “Planned Development District” (PD). This change aims to facilitate future development and revitalization efforts in Central New York, which has been a focal point for community discussions.
New thrift shop opens in Cazenovia
In a positive community development, Faith Wheeler, a lifelong Cazenovia resident and rising senior at Harvard University, opened Four Daughters Thrift at 53 Albany St. on June 11. The shop features nearly 1,000 items, including clothing and accessories for all ages. Wheeler is committed to giving back, donating 10 percent of profits to CazCares, a local charity.

Downtown Revitalization Initiative planning process begins
The Village of Cazenovia has also launched the planning process for its $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) award. This initiative invites residents, business owners, and community organizations to participate in shaping the future of downtown Cazenovia. The DRI is a collaborative effort led by the NYS Department of State and several state agencies.
Historical marker commemorates local industry
Additionally, Cazenovia Heritage recently unveiled a New York State Historical Marker for the 1808 Wool Factory located at 133 Albany St. This marker highlights the significance of the site, which played a crucial role in Central New York’s industrial history. The dedication ceremony took place on June 28, attended by local officials and community members.
