Benne Anderson will race in the 1,500-meter semifinal, while Jamir Brown and Elijah Mallard will compete in the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles semifinals, respectively. The championships run until Saturday.

Individual performances to watch
Anderson, a redshirt sophomore, is making his second trip to the championships after finishing 22nd in the 1,500-meter semifinals two years ago. He has improved significantly this season, achieving a personal best of 3:36.45, which ranks him 16th nationally.
Brown, who won the Division III national title in the 110-meter hurdles last year, has been a standout this season, holding the fastest time in the country for the event at 13.25 seconds. He will face tough competition, including Texas’ Kendrick Smallwood, who clocked a 13.04-second time in the West Regional Quarterfinals.
Mallard, a senior, has had a rollercoaster season but qualified for the championships with a personal record of 49.11 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles quarterfinals. This will be his first appearance at the national championships.
What to expect
The semifinals for all three athletes will take place on Wednesday, with the potential for them to advance to the finals later in the week. Their performances could mark a historic moment for Syracuse track and field, which has yet to crown an NCAA individual outdoor champion.
